A Uruguayan Pilot Flew To Save A Dog’s Life
Through social networks, the news became known about a Uruguayan pilot, in the second stage of the CODASUR international championship, which takes place in Bolivia, who almost ran over a dog. Uruguayan pilot Fernando Zuasnabar became famous for the maneuver he performed to save the life of an animal. The dog crossed the road in the middle of a rally.
In one of the jumps, the pilot came across a little dog in the middle of the way. Luck, chance or the skill of the driver made the car jump milliseconds before almost colliding with the animal.
Moments later, members of the organization and police took charge of taking the animal off the route.
The signs of being hit by a dog
If on any occasion we have come across a pet that drags any of its limbs, or has them paralyzed, including cut skin areas, with the fur pulled out by grating on the floor, dirty with grease or oil in the wounds or in the skin, most likely he has had an accident and we must save his life.
The correct way to act is to keep the animal in a so-called “rescue” position, which is laid on its right side, in addition to being protected with a blanket. Contributing heat is very important. Furthermore, we must act quickly but calmly.

First Aid to Save a Dog’s Life
If we want to do something to help the run over animal, we can try to contain the blood by pressing the area with a clean cloth, gauze or cotton, placing one on top of the other, without removing the previous one.
A tourniquet on any limb should only be done as a last resort and applied for a few minutes (never more than 15 minutes), using fabric strips and avoiding rubbers or ropes. For this, you can insert a stick or pencil in the knot and make several turns to tighten the bandage tissue until the bleeding stops, thus saving the animal’s life.
In case there is any broken bone, we will immobilize the animal with the help of a board.
When bleeding flows quickly, gauze or a clean cloth should be applied over the wound. Then we’ll have to press hard to make the blood clot. This is critical to saving a dog’s life.
If the wound that has occurred on the paws is of considerable importance and the blood is light red in color, we will have to compress the brachial artery, in the case of the forelegs, or the femoral artery, in the case of the posterior ones.
It may be the case that a vein has been affected. The blood will have a dark red color. If this occurs, a tourniquet must be placed 5 cm from the wound to the end of the limb, at the same time that we need to tie a knot through which a pencil or a small stick can be passed, to squeeze it until the blood stop flowing.
