I once lost a dog. I was always very insistent that my dad take her for a walk on the leash, but she was so obedient that my dad didn’t care much for my recommendations. However, one day when she was in heat, she went after some dogs while my father was distracted and disappeared. I never heard from her again. I would have been grateful if there had been, at that time, an app for finding lost dogs, but there wasn’t.
So I know how dog owners feel when they go crazy putting up posters and asking everyone about the missing dog. It’s a huge anguish, as they become part of the family.
Unfortunately at that time there was not such a wide range of technology that could help in the search. But today, someone had a brilliant idea and it’s working really well. An app to find lost dogs, we’ll tell you all about it!
FantasticPets, the app to find lost dogs
José María Sánchez is a Spaniard from Valencia, he was the one who had this brilliant idea. His love for dogs (he certainly has one) brought out the excellent reality of this app. Aware of how many dogs disappear daily, he decided that he had to do something to rein in the situation and to prevent his dog from disappearing.
The invention is divided into two parts. The first, and most important, is a GPS locator that will have to be hung from your pet’s collar. The price is small so you won’t have to make big investments to protect your pet. This locator can show you where your pet is at all times. Like?
This is the second part of the invention: the app to find lost dogs is free and can, at this time, be downloaded from Google Play for Android (hopefully soon also from Apple). This app for finding lost dogs will connect your dog’s finder with your cell phone so you can know where your pet is when it escapes your view.
The only factor that might seem like an inconvenience is that the app only covers an area of 80 meters. But this is not an inconvenience, as this is where the most interesting part of this application comes in.
Anyone who has downloaded the app for finding lost dogs, FantásticoPets, will receive an alert about the missing dog in question.

Imagine that your dog disappears and that he has already left the 80 meter area covered by the app. But then, 200 meters away, there is someone who has the app, the notice about the missing dog will reach that person. If you haven’t had time to place an ad in the app about your lost dog (something you can do in this app), the person who finds you can also place an ad for the found dog, which you can see.

Therefore, the expansion
The newly launched app is giving good results, but at the moment it only works in Spain, more than ten thousand downloads have already been made, with excellent comments, which shows that it is working well and that it could be the end of the lost dogs.
So much so that José María Sánchez will soon be traveling to China to promote the app with the hope that it will favor expansion and so that it can soon be sold anywhere on the planet.
This app to find lost dogs also allows for adoption, protective association and other announcements, and in addition, it can easily point out veterinarians, pet stores and points of interest near where the user lives. What else could we want?
